Dry Eye Syndrome statistics are on the rise. They have doubled in the last seven years. Dry eye is the one most under-diagnosed and one of the most misunderstood eye conditions, and if left untreated, it can lead to serious eye conditions and sometimes loss of vision.

Dry Eye Syndrome is caused by a number of different factors, and treatment can vary from individual to individual. This is why getting a qualified evaluation and accurate diagnosies of this condition is very important. Even though there is no cure for this condition there are several treatment procedures available.

Many patients find that when they age, their eyes begin to become more dry and discomfort is felt by the end of the day. Contact lenses can be a source of eye discomfort or a burning sensation. LASIK is another cause of dry eye along with systemic problems such as Sjogren's syndrome.
